Physical Therapist
Sophie became a physical therapist after discovering a deep passion for helping children learn what they are capable of. The most rewarding things she has experienced are helping a child reach an exciting milestone, gain greater independence, and build confidence in themselves. After becoming a mom to her daughter, that passion became even more personal. As she navigated parenthood, Sophie found herself searching for support, trustworthy information, and meaningful opportunities for her daughter to participate in and thrive.
Like so many parents, she often felt overwhelmed by the endless information. Those experiences inspired her to create the kind of space and community she wished she had- a place where children and families could feel supported, connected, and cared for by experts.
That vision, combined with Sophie’s knowledge and love for working with children, is what inspired Birdie. She wanted to create a space where every child could feel safe, loved, and celebrated while having fun, building skills, and being supported by professionals who truly understand child development.
Sophie’s favorite population to treat is infants, although she loves working with children of all ages. She has a passion for helping children reach developmental milestones. She is also pediatric pelvic health certified, allowing her to support children and families in another important area of pediatric care.
Above all, Sophie’s goal is to create a space where children can come exactly as they are, families feel supported and understood, and everyone has a community cheering them on.
Speech Language Pathologist
Rebecca’s journey into speech-language pathology began with her own experience as a parent. As a mom to two autistic children, she understands firsthand how overwhelming it can feel to navigate communication differences, services, and support without a clear roadmap. Those experiences inspired her to return to school and become a Speech-Language Pathologist, with a passion for providing families with the understanding, support, and guidance she once searched for herself.
Rebecca believes that every child has the right to be heard, understood, and given a meaningful way to communicate. She has a special passion for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and supporting nonspeaking and minimally speaking children in discovering communication methods that work best for them.
Rebecca's vision and approach is rooted in respect for each child as they are. Therapy is not about changing a child to fit the world around them. It's instead about building communication, confidence, and self-advocacy while honoring their unique strengths, interests, and ways of experiencing the world.
Rebecca’s goal is to create a space where children feel safe to be themselves, families feel supported, and communication can grow in ways that are meaningful to each individual child.
